Nativity scenes

A nativity scene (also called manger scene, crib or crèche) with figures is an integral part of Christmas in many families, one of the most important family celebrations ever. How are our nativity scenes made?

Our wooden nativity scenes are all made in Val Gardena in South Tyrol (Italy) and are the result of masterly handicraft. With many years of experience and a lot of love for detail, we produce a large part of the nativities and the corresponding figures in our own workshop.

In order to offer you a wide range of different styles in our store, we also work closely with selected external painters, carvers and sculptors from Val Gardena. This way we can guarantee that our nativity scenes are carved out of durable wood of the highest quality, so that your whole family and many more generations can enjoy them.

What type of wood should I choose for my nativity scene?

In principle, this question only arises if you decide to buy a nativity scene in natural wood. Each type of wood has a special coloring. Therefore, you should think carefully about what kind of wood your nativity scene should be made of. In the best case it will fit perfectly into your interior design - or create a striking contrast.

We celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in a stable in Bethlehem at Christmas time. The first nativity scene was mentioned in recent history as early as 1562. Since then, the figurative representation of the Christmas story has been available in various shapes, colors and sizes.
